Hi Everybody,
Ok, lets bring this blog back to life!
I am so excited, because I have begun giving craftclasses for children!! I began with a small group of 4 year olds who finger crocheted. The girls learned how to do a simple flower, attached it to a natural twig with needle and yarn and voila - they had a wand!
The second class was crocheting with a hook. Children between the ages of 8-13 attended. They did an awesome job crocheting their first daisy!!
Next was an embroidery class for children ages 4-14. Well, it was supposed to be two separet groups, but due to low rsvps for the younger group, we decided to make it one group. Well, 12 children came!!! We were so happy that so many children wanted to learn how to embroider! However, the little ones need so much attention, and I felt that I was not able to give them what they needed. But, out of a problem new ideas are formed right!?!! So now instead we are offering a "Parent and Me" Embroidery class ages 4-7!
The older children who began embroidery on a purse/pouch did a great job learning how to do a backstitch! They are coming back on Monday afternoon to finish their project. Choice of designs were: flowers or skull! :~)
Currently upcoming classes are:
Monday July 26: 11-12.30 - Parent and Me embroidery ages 4-7. If you have two children that fall in that age bracket, you can bring both for the same price! Please rsvp by Sunday at noon. 10 spots only! $20/couple. We are making felt cookies!!
These classes are held at Paint n Glaze thanks to [gee!] a homeschooling center. Find out more information about [gee!] meetups at http://www.meetup.com
Please stay tuned for more classes!

I am so excited to part of the craftfair fundraiser at Eat, Play, Grow in Bixby Knolls. It takes place on November 6, at 5.30-8.30pm.
I will sell my unique fairies and playmats, and I am excited about the variety of mats this year. I am adding fall and winter motifs, in addition to the regular "spring time" mats. All fairies and mats are handmade and the mats are constructed with about 40-80% recycled materials.
I am in the process of completing mats and fairies, so please come back soon for more pictures!!
I hope to see you at the fundraiser!!

Valentine cookies and cupcakes!
For Valentine's day I made some felt cookies and cupcakes! The sweets are made out of felt and stuffed with bamboo - yes, somehow technology got bamboo transformed into a soft, wool like material!
The sweets are being sold at my friend Angie's store the Outfit! The Outfit is located inside the "kids are alright" on Broadway/Redondo. I don't have pictures of the cookies and cupcakes here, but you can view them on my friend's blog and website:

You should check out Angie's store and blog - she sells children's playthings and clothes made by moms - Lots of really wonderful things!
If you like the cookies and the cupcakes, I do custom orders of the ones you see in the pictures, as well in other colors! I am also making "Swedish princess cake" slices in felt - cake covered with green marzipan decorated with a pink flower. I also make felt "vaccums", also a Swedish pastry: marzipan filled with chocolate and punch(mine are filled with bamboo stuffing!), and the ends are dipped in chocolate. All cookies, cakes, and cupcakes go for between $4-10 each.
I am also planning on making Valentine fairies - stay posted for pictures of those!
peace

The Holiday boutique for the Swedish school
This past weekend I took part in the Swedish Holiday boutique, a fundraiser for the Swedish School of Orange County, which my daughter attends once a week. A few people showed up, but because of the economy, I think most people are waiting for the larger Swea event (this coming weekend in Costa Mesa and the following in Los Angeles at the Shrine).
I manage to sell a couple of fairies and one mat. One girl played with the fairies and the mats for almost an hour while her parents looked around!! She loved them! Her mom secretly bought her a fairy and a mat as a Christmas present.
that's it for now....

Below are fairies and dolls that are sold already. I however, have about 6 more that are for sale.
The ones I have now:
2 with tulle tutus; one in pink and one in peach.
One has a purple tulle tutu with purple flower petals.
One has a white tutu made with a croched skirt and tulle.
One with red tulle and red croched skirt.
The girls don't have wings, but if you would like me to add wings I will. They have various skin colors.
I also have three boys left - you can see one in the picture below - they have blue or green wings. 2 are black and one is white.
I only have one environment left (playmat). I can take order for those as well.
I will post pictures.
If you have any colors in mind (hair color, skin color, dress etc) I can make them special for you.
